About us

Palabras Perdidas is an independent publishing house based in Málaga, born from a strategic alliance between Spanish business expertise and Ukrainian philological excellence. We serve as a specialized cultural bridge dedicated to the recovery and publication of the Ukrainian literary canon, focusing on those masterpieces that were victims of systematic erasure, imperial censorship, and Soviet repression. Our structure combines agile lean manufacturing operations with cutting-edge hybrid translation technology, allowing us to rescue fundamental texts and return them to the global stage with unprecedented philological fidelity.

Our Mission

Our mission is to systematically identify, restore, and publish the foundational works of Ukrainian literature for Spanish- and English-speaking audiences. We work to reverse centuries of cultural isolation, rescuing the original artistic intent of authors who were silenced or mutilated by censorship. Through a business model of high social impact and low financial risk, we seek to fill the critical void in the international publishing market, ensuring that the soul of Ukraine—its written word—is accessible to any reader in the world.

Our Vision

We aspire to become the global reference publisher for translated Ukrainian literature, establishing a catalog of 50 fundamental titles within our first 18 months of operation. We envision a future where the Ukrainian canon takes its rightful place in libraries, universities, and homes around the world, ceasing to be an "invisible literature" and instead becoming recognized as an essential pillar of European cultural heritage. Our goal is for Palabras Perdidas to be the engine that ensures, once and for all, that no voice from this legacy is ever silenced again.

Our team

Behind Palabras Perdidas lies a chance and necessary encounter between two worlds: that of a young entrepreneur who carries the language and memory of Ukraine in her DNA, and that of a Spanish dreamer who believes in the power of stories to change the world.

We are more than just a corporate structure; we are a group of seven people—spread between the resistance in Ukraine and the diaspora in England, Germany, and Spain—who share the same sense of urgency: that the voices of our ancestors must not be lost to the silence of history. Every book we publish passes through the hands of philologists and translators who work not just with texts, but with fragments of an identity that refused to disappear, blending technical precision with the care of someone rescuing a family treasure.
